The history of the Baikal Minerals group of companies began with the founding of the Baikalruda company in 1946, when the development of the Onotsky talc deposit began, the only one in Russia containing a minimum amount of impurities of other rocks (talc-steatite). In 2001, a decision was made to build a modern Baikal Minerals plant for grinding talc ore near Irkutsk.
In 2002, the company launched its own brand of microtalcs - TALCON, which received general recognition from customers. This brand has been repeatedly tested and tested at many domestic and foreign industrial enterprises and in scientific centers. Objective conclusions obtained as a result of these tests made it possible to form a range of products combining the mineralogical and chemical components of individual ore grades with a carefully verified granulometric composition of microtalcs for each industry segment.
