The history of the Baikal Minerals group of companies began with the founding of the Baikalruda company in 1946, when development of the Onotsky talc deposit began, the only one in Russia containing a minimal amount of impurities of other rocks (talc-steatite).

In 2001, a decision was made to build a modern plant, Baikal Minerals, near Irkutsk to crush talc ore.

In 2002, the company launched its own brand of microtalcs, TALCON, which received general recognition from customers. This brand has been repeatedly tested and tested at many domestic and foreign industrial enterprises and research centers. Objective conclusions obtained as a result of these tests made it possible to form a range of products that combines the mineralogical and chemical components of individual ore grades with a carefully verified granulometric composition of microtalcs for each industry segment.

Over the past few years, the company has been actively developing: advanced technologies have been introduced, equipment has been modernized, logistics schemes and storage conditions have been improved. Particular attention has been paid to the work on creating new brands of microtalcs, expanding the possibilities of using the material in such industries as paint and varnish industry, plastics, rubber engineering and others.

In the summer of 2024, the Baikal Minerals Group of Companies took another important step towards strengthening its position in the market - a decision was made to acquire a warehouse base in the city of Petushki, Vladimir Region. The new logistics link plays a key role in optimizing product deliveries to consumers in the Central Federal District and neighboring countries. This made it possible to increase the efficiency of shipment, reduce delivery times and improve customer service.
